I graduated in 1989 from Central, St Martins School of Art and Design, London with a BA (Hons) in Three Dimensional Design, ceramics. I then completed an MA in making and archiving at the University of the West of England, Bristol in 2002. This changed my making process enormously though it was not until 2012 that I was in a position to set up a dedicated ceramic studio in Ilfracombe, North Devon. I now work full time to supply galleries throughout the UK and sell online internationally.
My work is mostly hand-built using earthenware clays. Clay is a hard material to master and this often leads to unexpected chance happenings. Pieces are finished with a range of glazes which are often layered to create depth and texture. I hope to capture humour and combine reality with fiction in my work.
