A bit about me

The landscapes of North Devon and Cornwall are at the core of my practice, stunning yet fragile, shaped by time and increasingly threatened by erosion and human impact. While their beauty draws me in, it’s their vulnerability that drives my work.

My textile pieces are not literal representations, but sensory responses to the land’s form, texture, and rhythm. I work in a multi-layered, experimental way, combining hand and machine embroidery, felting, appliqué, printmaking, and mixed media, to capture the tactile essence of these shifting environments. I use recycled and natural materials that mirror the colours and patterns found in cliffs, tidal zones, and fossil-rich rock.

After many years teaching fine art textiles, my move from Rutland to the coast in 2022 marked a creative turning point. It was a year of expansion, deepening connections with other artists, exploring new directions, and pushing the boundaries of my practice.

Now based on the North Devon coast, I find endless inspiration in its geological layers, changing tides, and liminal spaces between land and sea. These places hold both beauty and urgency, reminders of nature’s transience and the need for care. Embracing the vulnerability of making, each piece attempts to hold a fleeting moment, honour a fragile landscape, and invite closer observation.

I am a member of The Society of Designer Craftsmen and The Crafts Council Directory.
