A bit about me
I am passionate about keeping the ancient art of hand weaving alive within a context of a world with so much increasing appreciation of handmade items and an awareness of the environmental and social impact of the textile industry. I was lucky enough to gain an apprenticeship with Sioni Rhys Hand Weavers, Pandy, Abergavenny, South Wales after completing an Art Foundation at Hereford College of Art and Design.
I moved to Woolacombe eight years ago where I work as a studio weaver and live with my husband and young son. I continue to hone my weaving skills with designs inspired by the power, colour and beauty of the traditional Welsh woven textiles which surround me.
My inspiration comes from where my life takes me physically and emotionally – the hectic cityscape and hustle and bustle of busy people or the roar of the wild sea and unimaginable colours that are flung together by nature.
